It took me a long time to realize that love isn’t supposed to feel heavy, and it’s certainly not supposed to feel like a cage.
For so long, I felt this subtle, crushing pressure to conform, as if my choices, my time, and my identity were only valuable if they served someone else.
But I am done being treated like a possession or a prize to be managed. Real, lasting love doesn't demand that you shrink yourself or surrender your autonomy to make someone else feel secure.
