Yesterday while @MyronGainesX was covering the Tyler Robinson case, something clicked that further backs up the explosive-rigged RODE mic on Charlie, which was placed inside his shirt (instead of outside for optimal audio capture.)
Everyone who was there that day says "the shot" was extremely loud; however that's impossible since they're alleging Tyler Robinson took the shot from an elevated position at a distance of about 142 yards.
I say it's impossible for them to hear the shot super loud because I'm a deer hunter who uses a 7mm Remington Magnum and all of the noise of the shot is concentrated at the firearm. Standard practice for hunting deer is to sight in your scope to 100 yards and from there you can determine bullet drop at further or shorter distances depending on the shot you get; that said, I have heard what it sounds like when someone takes a shot 150 yards away from me with a 30-06 rifle and it's no where near loud compared to when you pull the trigger yourself.
Yes, I ...
One thing Myron Gaines has talked about is the value of prestige—how degrees or certifications from highly respected institutions can open doors simply because people recognize the name. Whether you agree with all of his views or not, I think there’s a useful point here.
Prestige isn’t everything. Skills, character, and hard work matter more over the long run. But a respected credential can help you get your foot in the door, build credibility, and expand your network.
That’s part of why I’m looking at certifications from well-known universities alongside my farming experience. If I can combine real-world results with respected education, why not do both?
At the end of the day, a name might open a door—but what you do once you’re inside is what really builds influence.
